Clayton Library Friends February General Meeting

This general meeting will be a hybrid meeting – held both online via Zoom and in-person at Clayton’s Garwood Meeting Room – and requires registration.

The meeting will consist of a brief business meeting followed by our guest speaker.

Program Title change to: Preserving the Greatest Generation: World War II Genealogy, The Society of Sons and Daughters of WWII Veterans

Speaker Courtney CarrThis genealogy-focused membership initiative honors, preserves, and shares the stories of America's "Greatest Generation." The program provides descendants an opportunity to connect to other families while also documenting their loved one's lived experiences for future generations. This presentation is sponsored by the National Museum of the Pacific War, proving that museums can play a vital role in their communities by offering genealogy.

Courtney Carr is the WWII Veterans Legacy Programs Manager at the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, Texas. She is an enthusiastic public historian who holds a Master of Arts degree in Public History from Arizona State University. Courtney served in the U.S. Navy for 12 years and has extensive leadership experience in museums and nonprofit management.

Registration is required for either Zoom or in-person attendance. You do not need to be a member to attend the meeting.
