Genealogy Face2Face - Presented by Clayton Library Friends
Genealogy Face2Face is an informative and fun Zoom hangout that features genealogical speakers, discussion, and sharing. This program is open to both CLF members and guests free of charge. Our goal is to promote Clayton Library, its collections, and genealogical research.
Topic: "The Leonardo Andrea Collection" with Gay Carter
Anyone with southern ancestry should take the time to explore the Leonardo Andrea Collection. This rich collection of genealogical data, amassed by the well-respected South Carolina genealogist, focuses on the southern states and includes such materials as genealogical reports, transcripts of Bible records, pedigree charts, and clippings. Another part of the collection holds Andrea’s extensive files of genealogical correspondence. And both microfilm series are available at the Clayton Library! Learn more about its contents and how to navigate the collection.
Gay E. Carter is retired from the Alfred R. Neumann Library, University of Houston-Clear Lake, where she served as Reference/Documents Librarian for over 30 years. Engaged in genealogical research for over 40 years, she is a charter member of Clayton Library Friends and the Bay Area Genealogical Society, as well as a member of the Brazos Valley Chapter, NSDAR. Her writings include articles on using university libraries for genealogical research in Family Tree Magazine (April 2001) and National Genealogical Society NewsMagazine (December 2004); as well as numerous research-oriented articles for local genealogical publications, including “Southern Legacy: The Leonardo Andrea Collection,” CLF Newsletter (August 1999).
