West Houston Area Genealogy Society presents: An Approach to Recording Your Finds: Writing as You Go A Virtual Presentation by Gail Colby
Genealogy and family history are about the stories of our ancestors. We use records of the past to reconstruct the lives of our forebears. Writing as you go is a way to capture the data in these records in an economical way by "handling" the documents once. Instead of trying to write the complete family history when you have accumulated a massive amount of information, write targeted reports that answer a genealogical question. The research reports can then be used to assemble a family history.
Gail has served as the Secretary of the Houston West Family Genealogy Society since January 2018, after joining the Society in September 2017. She holds a certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University and has attended the Institute of Genealogical and Historical Research (IGHR) in Athens, Georgia since 2017, focusing on DNA research and has completed an online, DNA Advanced Practicum through the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG).
