Navigating Freedmen’s Bureau Records – Strategies for Research Success

Researchers will learn to identify and locate Freedmen’s Bureau records that support and advance their research goals in this program by guest speaker Sharon Batiste Gillins. Discover the organization of the Freedmen’s Bureau, its reporting levels, record-keeping practices, and record types in order to develop an effective research strategy. The Descriptive Pamphlet is demonstrated as the indispensable navigational tool to implementing a focused and efficient research plan regardless of the media or platform used to access the records.

Attendance of this session is required in order to attend the workshop Freemen's Bureau Experience at 11:30 AM.
