Colonial Day

  • Sat, November 04, 2017
  • 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM
  • Clayton Library

You will have an exceeding agreeable time attending these colonial-era programs, to be sure. Class size is limited.

Virginia: The First Colony | 10:30 AM – 12 PM

Learn to research your colonial Virginia ancestors with Clayton Library staff member Melissa Hayes. Beginning with records circa 1776 we will travel backwards through time to examine the documents and records that have survived the burning of courthouses, natural disasters, and general neglect of early colonial scribes. We will discuss how to overcome major gaps in early records by using unconventional resources.

Colonial Dames of America | 12:15 PM – 1 PM

Find out about the lineage societies of the Colonial Dames of America – who they are, what they do, and how to join.

Reservations required, please call 832-393-2600. Adults/Teens.
