CLAYTON LIBRARY FRIENDS

CLF General Meeting August 2018 (Note Early Start Time)

  • Sat, August 11, 2018
  • 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM
  • Carriage House Meeting Room, Clayton Library

The Clayton Library Friends General Meeting will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2017. Registration will start at 10:15 and the meeting will start at 9:30 AM in the Carriage House Meeting Room at Clayton Library.

This meeting will have an earlier start time.

Our speaker will be Susan Kaufman, who is Manager of Clayton Library, Center for Genealogical Research. Her talk, the “State of Clayton Library”, will enlighten us about current educational programming and activities at the library which have been planned for the near future. You will also hear about important acquisitions for the library which can help you in your quest to uncover your own family history.

Ms. Kaufman has been a genealogy librarian for 23 years including 6 years at the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her ability to acquire one-of-a-kind resources, special government documents, and other hard-to-find materials has been a plus for researchers. She heads up a team of librarians who have all worked on their own genealogies. They share these personal experiences by offering library programming, public speaking venues which reach out to educate the public on genealogy.

We are blessed to have access to such a research facility right here in Houston, one recognized within the top ten genealogical research libraries in the United States. Sue Kaufman, her team of librarians, along with the volunteer and financial support of Clayton Library Friends provides all of us with a more dynamic research facility. You won't want to miss this opportunity to hear about the many future plans for Clayton Library.

Registration starts at 9:15 am. NEW STARTING TIME will be 9:30 AM
